A place to move and breathe and have our being.
I became intrigued with Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) after working as a heavy-collision journeyman in the auto body industry for over twenty-five years. Considering my years of experience working metal and being known as a meticulous craftsman, I optimistically purchased a small selection of PDR tools and started experimenting. I quickly, painfully realized that it was easy to accomplish “dent-different”, but not so easy to accomplish “dent-gone”. My learning process became a source of entertainment for my auto-body co-workers. Over time, however, their amusement transitioned to interest as I was “finishing” my experiments with less and less filler and found that I could iron out hail and door dings reasonably well. I even started using PDR techniques on larger damage with a filler finish. Then one day I had a serious confidence adjustment as I watched a technician work on a seriously mangled car. He was able to reverse complex metal damage to pre-incident condition without any filler or paint-refinish. Although a serious confidence adjustment, seeing the true potential of PDR challenged and motivated me almost to an obsession to know more, and more, and more….
Today, it is my passion to bring more awareness of PDR to our beautiful Columbia Gorge. Not every incident can be repaired using PDR, but its potential seems to be largely untapped in our corner of the world.
