It has come a long way since then, but it remains the best way to remove minor dents without the diminished value of repainting and risk of not matching original colors. Dents are removed without altering the original finish.
PDR known as Paintless dent removal is the fastest, most efficient, cost effective, and most valuable, superior method for removing door dings, hail damage, and minor dents. Paintless dent removal requires a massive amount of expertise. A PDR tech often uses very specific tools to push against the back side of the panel. It takes just the right amount of pressure to manipulate the metal without harming the finish and thats where the skill is really involved. In many circumstances a PDR tech is much compared to a plastic surgeon on a vehicle. If not preformed at a high level skill you could in fact be left with paint scaring that can not be reversed. Beyond that you have no other option but the body shop, and thats defeating the purpose. In order to qualify the dent as being a good candidate and establishing a price range, a few photos or a short video will be needed for reference. You can text a minimum of 3 photos at different angles standing from 2-3 feet back or take a short 20-30 second video while walking slowly around the damaged area. Please include the year, make, model and body panel affected (door, hood, fender) along with the photos or videos.
